Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K P Singh inaugurated a three-day national conference ‘BlodCon-2017’ at Lovely Professional University(LPU), today.
The conference is being held in association with National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. As many as 150 delegates from various ‘Blood Donor Motivator Organisations’ from across the country and abroad are participating in the workshop-cum-conference.
Federation of Indian Blood Donors Organisations (FIBDO), Hindustan Welfare Blood Donors Club (HWBD Club), Phagwara, and LPU have joined hands for successfully conducting the conference. Inaugurating the conference, the chief guest, Rana K P Singh appreciated the efforts of blood donor motivator organisations of the state and the country and the blood donors to help the needy.
He urged them to sensitise more people for the cause.
NBTC Director Dr Shobni Rajan, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary MLA Phagwara Som Parkash, MLA Nawanshahr Angad Singh, Lovely Group chairman, Ramesh Mittal, FIBDO president KP Rajgopalan, national secretary Biswaroop Biswas, LPU director general, HR Singla, HWBD Club president, Vitin Puri, were also present on the occasion.
A poster session and awakening rally was also held, in which all delegates participated. FIBDO National president said important steps should be taken to make blood donation a law in the country and blood stock should be open to all, when and where it is available.
Aiming towards 100 per cent Voluntary Blood Donation - Vision 2020, conference is going to have 10 detailed scientific sessions.
